High Priority Projects Program Now Open

FY 2027 Tribal High Priority Projects Program Now Open

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is accepting applications for the FY 2027 Tribal High Priority Projects (HPP) Program, which will provide nearly $9 million to support high-priority Tribal transportation projects and eligible emergency or disaster-related transportation needs.

Application Deadline: January 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. (local time). Late applications will not be accepted.

Tribes may be eligible if:

  • Annual Tribal Transportation Program funding is insufficient to complete a high-priority project.
  • An emergency or disaster has rendered a Tribal transportation facility impassable or unusable.

Application forms, guidance documents, eligibility checklists, and scoring information are available through the FHWA Tribal HPP Program website. Technical assistance is available from Christopher W. Riley at chris.w.riley@dot.gov or(907) 214-0322.

NW TTAP encourages Tribes to begin preparing applications early.
