The Steering Committee will consist of a representative from the FHWA, a representative from BIA, at least one Tribal representative from each of the three most-encompassing state DOTs in the region, and the remainder of the seats will be filled with transportation professionals and Tribal leaders from the communities in the BIA Northwest Region. Currently, the vision is to include at least one Tribal representative from Western and Eastern Washington, Western and Eastern Oregon, and Northern and Southern Idaho, however, this may change.
To ensure appropriate representation of Tribal communities and their respective needs, the SC will be composed of at least 50% Tribal members to ensure the voices of those impacted by Tribal transportation issues are heard. NW TTAP Center Board of Directors will host monthly steering committee (SC) meetings to report on the center’s progress towards the Annual Work Plan tasks to the SC members. Meetings will plan for future activities and seek advice about strengthening initiatives.
